It has been a busy maths week in 5N! The week started with Mr King’s assembly. He showed us a puzzle called ‘Tower of Hanoi’. If you would like to have a go at the puzzle you can go here: https://www.mathsisfun.com/games/towerofhanoi.html

As well as our normal maths lesson, we have had some mysteries and puzzles to solve. The first mystery was ‘The Chocolate Thief’. We needed to use the clues to sort through the suspects and find who the thief was. The second puzzle was ‘Backstage Pass’. We needed to use the clues to find the right code. The clues were all maths problems such as: ordering, sequencing, balancing equations and calculations. We solved the clues and found the thief and the code.

If you wanted to get better at your maths it is important to practise. Remember to do your maths homework and you could ask your parents to write some questions for you or check your timestables.

In 5N we love maths so much so we have written some acrostic poems:

Magnificent Multiplication

Arithmetic is amazing fun

Tomorrow I will have timetables galore

Hard equations muddling my brain

Super fun sums!

Multiplication guess what’s next

Addition yes yes yes

Triple trouble time for a test

How do I solve this

Subtraction quest?

Do you like Maths? What is your favourite area of maths? How do you practise at home?
