School Sports Funding

A huge part of the ethos at Chase Bridge is expressing your talents. The benefits of sports and sporting competitions go beyond the match as children learn lifelong skills such as resilience, hard work, collaboration and sportsmanship. Given our location next to the Twickenham Rugby Stadium, this means rugby and sports are part of our heritage, which further connects us to the local community.

As of September 2013 all maintained schools in England are being given additional government funding to improve PE and sport in schools. OfSTED will be assessing and reporting on how effectively this is being used. Chase Bridge was given £21,210 in 2023/24, £21,290 in 2024/25 and £21,370 in 2025/26.

From January 2027, the Government is replacing the direct PE and Sports Premium with a centrally coordinated PE and Schools Sports Partnership Network backed by £580m national funding.  This section of our website will be updated once we have received firm guidance from the DfE.
