Year 4

A very warm welcome to the Year 4 page!

The teachers in Year 4 are Miss Klever (4K and Team Leader), Miss McCormack (4A) and Mrs O’Connor (4C). Our teachers are ably supported by teaching assistants Mrs Jackson, Mr Mpofu, Mrs Sheldrake and Mrs Yousaf.

We are very excited to take our year 4 children on this exciting learning journey as we have so many interesting activities and trips planned to bring their topics to life.

Homework for Year 4 will be issued on a Friday with the expectation of completed work to be returned by the following Wednesday.

We hope you will find the information featured on this page useful. However, if you do have any questions, please speak to the class teachers at drop off or home time, or send us an email at info@chasebridge.richmond.sch.uk.

What will the children be learning this half-term?

What is an earthquake and what causes it? What actually happens when a volcano erupts? Are all volcanoes active and where are they in the world? Why do tsunamis occur? Year 4 will be finding out the answers to all these questions (and more) in this term's study of extreme weather conditions. By the end of the topic, the children will have a clear understanding of different natural disasters, what causes them and the effect they have on the environment, as well as humans and animals.  Finally, no study of volcanoes will be complete without a practical experiment - we look forward to sharing with you our own erupting volcanoes!
