Being the Change!

As part of our new topic, Pole to Pole Year 3 have been learning about the important issue of climate change. 3B have been very passionate about the issue and were excited to share their ideas on taking care of our beautiful planet.

Luckily, there are superheroes who can help us! You!

We discovered that children could make a change when learning about Greta Thunberg and 3B had ideas on how to make change happen. Global warming is the unusually rapid increase in Earth's average surface temperature over the past century primarily due to the greenhouse gases released by people burning fossil fuels.

You can help by growing your own vegetables and fruits. You can help by planting a tree. Your new plants and trees will help to remove the greenhouse gas CO2 from the air. If you grow some of your own food,

In 3B we have decided to write a letter to the Mayor of London Sadiq Khan and tell him we are worried about climate change and tell him what the adults could do to stop the world flooding.

We learnt about different types of fuel and ways we could protect the planet while still powering all our devices. Bella said we could ban all cards that use fossil fuels and only allow electric cars to stop pollution.

Oliver learnt the word deforestation, this means that trees are being cut down and this is damaging the rain forest. To prevent this, Leo said we could protect the rain forest with a security force, he did some research himself and found out marines already help guard the amazon.

Maariyah wants to travel the world and tell all the adults we have to change and look after the planet. Blessing thinks it has been very interesting to learn about global warming and we know we can save the world.

What creative ideas do you have to prevent global warming? Will you plant a tree? Will you stop using plastic water bottles?

Awesome, 3B.  Well done!  Loved your ideas.  Looking forward to seeing if the Mayor will reply to your letter.

JANE MACPHERSON

We really enjoyed reading your blog. We think we can help too and we are also writing letters to the Mayor and Deputy Mayor. Let's hope other people can get involved too.

Thanks for posting this 3B.

This is such an important issue but it seems so big it makes you wonder what you can do. That is why I love what you said - we can all be 'superheroes' and help in small ways that together make a difference. I'm going to see what else I can plant in my garden!

Mr King

I think protecting are planet is important
